Among his best-known works is a series of novels collectively known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire, which revolves around the imaginary county of Barsetshire. «Orley Farm» is a novel which was first published by the London publisher Chapman and Hall from March 1861 to October 1862. This story deals with the imperfect workings of the legal system in the trial and acquittal of Lady Mason.
